Dynamics AX 2012 Companion Applications: Support for ACS and SAS
As of July 2017, you are no longer able to create a new ACS namespace through the Windows Azure Management Portal. To create a new namespace for Dynamics AX 2012 companion applications, open a technical support ticket for the Service Bus team to whitelist a new ACS namespace. You will then be engaged by Azure Customer Support to review the request. Please be ready to provide the subscription IDs you want whitelisted. For additional information, reference https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/servicebus/2017/06/01/upcoming-changes-to-acs-enabled-namespaces/.
The work to move Dynamics AX companion applications to SAS is in progress, and application updates will be released before the support for ACS is depreciated. Until then, the Azure support team has agreed to continue to support new AX 2012 customers with their whitelisting process.

Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (on-premises) update
We are excited to see great interest in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (on-premises) since its release in June 2017. Thank you! As you proceed with the implementation, we want to provide you with an update on the following topics that are frequently mentioned in various forums.
- Is on-premises the right choice for you?
- What are the upcoming on-premises features?
- Resources and links
Is on-premises the right choice for you?
The following considerations must be taken when you choose on-premises as a deployment option:
- Regulatory and compliance needs that are not available in the cloud certifications.
- Disconnected business process with intermittent connectivity to Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) for application lifecycle management.
- Features currently not implemented in on-premises deployments.
- Minimum infrastructure requirements.
- Cloud hosting is not supported with the on-premises version.
What are the upcoming on-premises features?
We have most recently released Platform update 11 for on-premises on Nov 15th, 2017. Our goal is to make all on-premises platform updates available simultaneously with the cloud updates by the second quarter of calendar year 2018.
By the end of February we expect to release Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition 7.3(on-premises) for new deployments with additional on premises specific features as listed below.
- Deployment - Improvements to deployment will make setup and deployment more robust, along with automation to support most common topologies. For more information, see the most current setup instructions and troubleshooting guidance.
- Servicing - The ability to apply Microsoft-released platform and application updates, as well as code customizations, to your environment post deployment through Lifecycle Services (LCS) for on-premises customers. This will enable customers to stay current with the latest set of fixes as well as take new customizations without having to reconfigure an existing environment or deploy a new on-premises environment. We will also add the ability to rollback code changes in case of failures during the package application. Note that the reconfigure feature will assist in immediately redeploying the on-premises environment.
- DIXF integrations - The ability to import and export data in data management via integration APIs will be made available for on-premises deployments. This functionality will enable you to integrate external applications with Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition so you can import and export data using data entities.
The following integrations are in the roadmap post-February 2018 and will be made available in a future release for on premises.
- Power BI Report Server integration.
- SharePoint on-premises integration.
- Enable Task recorder integration with LCS.
Please keep up-to-date on the roadmap fromhttp://roadmap.dynamics.com
Resource and links
The On Premise deployment landing page provides help content and links to various resources, including troubleshooting tips. We have just released a new document to help plan for your on-premises deployment.
We are aware of certain challenges and issues that exist in the current release and are working aggressively to address those in the upcoming update in February. We are also continuously improving the technical content and troubleshooting tips. In the meantime, if you encounter issues or challenges, please refer to the troubleshooting guide. If you can’t find your answers listed, please create a support ticket.
Thank you and please keep the feedback coming.

Domain role with multiplicity 0..1 or 1 can hold at most 1 link Dynamics Ax 2012 R3
I just applied the patch. After resolving all errors, I got errors when I try to refresh DataSet in Report designer. I added the new custom fields in temp table.
I got this error
I follow http://axdax.blogspot.com/2015/11/Domain-role-with-multiplicity-0..1-or-1.html
Which described as Follow
- Change the datasource type to Query.
- Delete the whole query text in the “Query” field.
- Save, rebuild and change the values on the datasource back to the ones intended
This results number of ambiguous report parameters. If you can delete old parameters and use new, It will perfectly fine. Its works for me. But it creates problem where report has multiple DataSet ie. PurchOrderconfirm report.
What I configure that there is version difference of report’s dataset and temp Table returned by DRP report. So I revert back report and dataset and First I compiled the temp table and then synchronized it. After that I refreshed the DataSet. The error removed. Later I added custom fields in Temp table and refresh the data set. Report successfully shows the custom report.
Best why, export last version of both report and Temp table. Compile and refresh the report dataset. After that start adding custom filed and refresh data set.

I used to write post, which 100 % true what Gary Vaynerchuk Once said ” Document don’t create”.
The whole idea of creating vs Documenting is interesting. Yes I am doing Documenting.
According To Gary
In very simple terms, “documenting” versus “creating” is what The Real World and the Kardashians is to Star Wars and Friends. And don’t get confused—just because you’re “documenting” doesn’t mean you’re not creating content. It’s just a version of creating that is predicated more on practicality instead of having to think of stories or fantasy—something that’s very hard for most people (including myself).

Invest in More TECHNOLOGY and Save Under NEW BUSINESS TAX PLAN
If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to transform your business technologically, guess what?
Today is the day!
As a result of the newly passed tax reform bill, businesses of any size--whether small or large--will have access to new deductions. Your business now has a completely unprecedented opportunity to update its tech infrastructure.
If you’re a sole proprietorship, a partnership, or an S corporation, taxes on your pass-through income are about to change dramatically. In fact, you’ll now be able to deduct up to 20% of your pass-through income thanks to the new tax bill!
If you’re a C corporation, you’ll also likely see a massive reduction in your tax burden. Rather than being subject to a variable bracketed tax rate of up to 35%, your company will now be taxed at a flat rate of 21% for all profits. That makes for a huge tax cut!
Section 179 of the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act goes even further to lower the taxes your business will owe. Under this section of the new legislation, your company will be able to write off certain tech-related purchases all at once, rather than depreciating them gradually. In fact, you’ll be able to deduct as much as $1 million in up-front purchases: that’s nearly twice the current limit of $510,000.
As a smart business owner, you’re likely aware of how important it is to adapt to technological changes in your industry. But, if you’re like many other company leaders, you may be hesitant to spend large sums on digital or tech-related updates. You’re more concerned with your bottom line in the current quarter, or with growing your sales before the end of the year. Thinking this way is understandable, but it limits your potential for long-term growth.
With the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, you could save tens of thousands (even millions) per year in taxes. These savings can be invested back into your company immediately. With the right tech strategies, you’ll be able to innovate within your industry. Your employees will work more efficiently; your customers will be happier; and, just as importantly, stakeholders will be more likely to invest. There are technological upgrades available for your business that can dramatically improve the way that people work together with data. These tech strategies can give you the edge that you need in a competitive industry.
Right now, a number of companies are already ahead of the curve. They’re calculated what they’ll save in taxes and they’re investing that money in upgrading their current systems. These investments include their CRM and ERP, along with SharePoint, Cloud, and Cybersecurity technology. Additionally, they’re switching to cloud solutions like Microsoft Office 365 or Dynamic 365, which ensure that their employees are working as efficiently as possible. Some companies are also incorporating Identity and Access Management technologies such as Okta and Azure AD into their business models, which help to protect their valuable assets from various security threats.
When you’re able to collect more data, you understand your customers better. The world of business is changing, and staying up to date with the latest tech trends is more mandatory than optional. If you want to be competitive, you need to ensure that you’re doing everything you can to invest in updating the digital side of your business.
