Here are the steps to resolve the following error messages being received in Integration Manager:
“The provider could not determine the Object value. For example, the row was just created, the default for the Object column was not available, and the consumer had not yet set a new Object value.”
"Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'System.Byte[]'
To resolve this error message you can try the following steps after making a backup of your Integration Manager Database:
A. Compact and Repair the Integration Manager Database using Access.
- Open Microsoft Access on the workstation.
- Point to File and select Open.
- Locate your integration database and select Open. You may have to change the file type to ‘All Types’ to see the integration database.
- Use one of the following according to your Office Version: Access 2000, 2002 & 2003 Click Tools, point to Database Utilities and select Compact and Repair Database Access 2007 Click the Microsoft Office Button, point to Manage, and then, under Manage this database, click Compact and Repair Database. For Access 2010 click the Database Tools tab and in the toolbar click the Compact and Repair Database button.
- Exit Access and then open Integration Manager to see whether the issue continues.
B. Repair both IM and Dynamics GP installations.
- Do this by going to Start | Control Panel | Programs and Features.
- Then right click on Integration Manager for Dynamics GP and click change and then click repair.
- This repairs Integration Manager.
- Do the same steps for Dynamics GP, right click change and then click repair.
- This repairs GP.
- Open Integration Manager to see if the issue continues.
C. Convert their Integration Manager Database using the following steps.
- Open Integration Manager using your old IMD file.
- Click Tools > Convert Database.
- Click the Convert Database Button, this will run the process.
- You will then have a new, converted IM Database named Converted_XXXX.IMD (XXXX is the original name of your old IM Database).
- The converted IM Database will be saved in the same location as the old IM Database.
- There will also be a Converted_XXXX.IMD.log file in the same location that will have more details regarding what converted.
- If the Conversion Result is “Invalid Format”, most likely that integration will need to be deleted, recreated or edited.
- Next click Tools, Options. Change the path here to point to the new converted database you just created.
- Close and restart Integration Manager.
- Reopen Integration Manager; you will be pointing to your new converted database now.
- See if the issue continues.
D. Create a new, blank Integration Manager database using Integration Manager.
- This is done by going to Tools, Create Database within Integration Manager.
- When this dialogue box opens, click the button to the right of the text field; this will allow you to choose the folder to create the new database in.
- Use the filename field to name the new database. NOTE: Be sure to include the file extension when entering the filename.
- Click Save and you will see the full path and filename listed in the Create New Database window.
- Click Create.
- Next click Tools, Options. Change the path here to point to the new database you just created.
- Close and restart Integration Manager.
- Reopen Integration Manager; you will be pointing to your new database now.
- Click File, Import Integrations to import the integrations you wish to save from your old database.
- See if the issue continues.
