Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Web Client – Login page is not displaying the GP Logo

You’ve installed the GP Web Client per the instructions and everything seems to be setup correctly.  When you navigate to the GP Web Client site you are presented with a User Name and Password text box and a Sign In button but there are also 2 “Microsoft Dynamics GP Logo” pictures that are not loading.  Logging in will also not work.

This problem can be caused by not having the proper Web Server Role Services selected.  Specifically the Common HTTP Features of the Web Server role.

  • Navigate to Server Manager > Roles > Web Server (IIS)
  • Look at the Role Services installed.  We need to have ‘Static Content’ and ‘Default Document’ under ‘Common HTTP Features’ installed at a minimum.
  • If you are missing one or both of these click the ‘Add Role Services’ link and add them.

If you manually add the ‘Web Server’ role through Server Manager these Role Services should be added by Default.  This problem can occur if you’ve previously installed a Feature or Role that required you to also enable IIS.  For example, if you install the WCF Activation Feature (under .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features) it will force you to also enable IIS on the server.  If you let this go through without making any changes IIS is installed on the server with only the Role Services required for WCF Activation to work.

Thanks to Aaron Donat for finding this issue!
