If luxury package holidays are your thing, there’s a good chance the company you’re booking through is supported by Microsoft Dynamics. Many global travel companies are implementing Microsoft Dynamics to streamline their businesses and improve the traveller experience. Kuoni Group are a luxury travel company specialising in destination and accommodation services and by implementing Dynamics CRM, they have more information about end-users, enabling them to offer a more personalised and improved service.
Miki Travel, one of the most influential global private travel companies implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX for their accounting. By replacing several disparate platforms with Dynamics AX, they now have multi-lingual and multi-currency support, giving them a better understanding of their profit and real-time status of the business. Leading leisure tourism group TUI which has branches including laterooms.co.uk similarly implemented Dynamics AX to improve their accounting software. They streamlined four programs into one, giving better insight into their business for improved decision making.

Airport shopping is on the rise with travellers taking advantage of duty free prices; research last year suggests that the global airport retail market set to rise by 72.9% over next five years. Microsoft Dynamics is growing in the retail sector and airport retail is no exception. Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) uses Microsoft technology across three Irish airports to improve the customer’s experience, focusing on EPoS, kiosks and other front-end retail innovations to help take the stress out of your last minute holiday shopping. The technology has also been integrated into the back office, including merchandising and business intelligence. Dixons Travel are another brand who have implemented Dynamics AX PoS in their airport shops.
Do you usually grab a snack to kill some time in the departures lounge? The outlets you visit could be powered by Microsoft Dynamics. High street favourite Costa Coffee have both standalone stores and automated vending facilities at airports. Using a combination of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and CRM, they now experience a smooth transition from sales pipeline to invoicing to servicing and note that implementing Microsoft Dynamics CRM has increased sales by around 10%. If you visit the airport’s Bureau de Change, this may also be driven by Dynamics: TTT MoneyCorp who specialise in foreign currency exchange have implemented Microsoft Dynamics CRM to create a customised customer journey and greater sales figures. Microsoft Dynamics also helps get you up in the air, with pilots using Dynamics CRM to register and maintain their licences with the Civil Aviation Authority.

By using a system like Microsoft Dynamics to make the day-to-day running of a hotel easier, the staff have more time to spend looking after you. Cenium hotel management system is used from Asia to Iceland, helping hotels maximise revenue by integrating all of their data in a user-friendly system. It uses Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the Microsoft SQL Server to centralise all information in real time, allowing staff to work effectively from one platform with access to everything from room rates to restaurants and interfaces to all key devices, including telephone systems and the all-important mini bar.
If you rather stay closer to home, you’re not alone. In recent years the recession has encouraged more travellers to holiday domestically, making trips to campsites or holiday parks. The growth of camping and caravanning has also been supported by the glamping trend which has seen an increase of 15% over the last year. ParkVision software was designed to fulfil the requirements of this industry including caravans and camping grounds. Built on Microsoft Dynamics NAV it includes CRM tools, business intelligence, booking management and HR & payroll which enables companies to use technology to increase profit, whilst removing the administrative overheads of running the business.
